WHEMCO's vertical spin caster manufactures  high chromium and indefinite chill work rolls used in wide strip mill and compact strip mill applications.   The vertical casting technology affords excellent interfacial bonding between dissimilar shell and core metals, as well as great flexibility in production of various alloy combinations, shell thickness and special design configurations.  Special ladle inoculation practices manipulate liquids/solidus response of the three phase indefinite chill iron solidification to control the constituent percentages of carbide and graphite for optimal rolling performance under various service conditions.  High Chromium grades are reaustenitezed and rotary quenched for precise hardening response and superior uniformity.
